Course Information
Description A basic study of HVAC and refrigeration controls; troubleshooting of control components; emphasis on use of wiring diagrams to analyze high and low voltage circuits; a review of Ohm's law as applied to air conditioning controls and circuits.

Learning Outcomes HART 1303 ? Air Conditioning Control Principles CSLOs

1. Identifies all main ideas, supporting details, and vocabulary in reading material; demonstrates a full understanding of the reading (PSLO ALPHA); measured by pre- and post-tests.

2. Read, draw, and interpret high and low voltage control circuits (PSLO 1); measured by assignment.

3. Identify HVAC refrigeration controls (PSLO 2); measured by quiz/assignment.

4. Test, repair, and/or replace HVAC-related electrical and control components, wiring, and equipment (PSLO 3); measured by quiz/assignment.
Core Objectives
Program Student Learning Outcomes Utilize and identify HVAC terms, symbols, materials, tools, measurement equipment, and processes to troubleshoot, service, and repair air conditioning, heating, and refrigeration systems; identify materials used in fabrication and installation of duct work.

Course Policies
Instructor Policies 1.students must have close toed shoes.
2. no eating are drinking in class room
3. students are graded on participation, if a student is absent he/she can not get participation grade there for will result in a 0 for that class period.
4. Customers will expect Techs to act professional and talk professional. Cursing and profanity will not be allowed in class.
Attendance Policy Research has shown a cause and effect relationship between attendance and college success. Missing a day of lecture can possible cause you to drop a letter grade on tests.
1. Tardiness: Tardiness (more than 5mins), for lectures or labs, 2 Tardies will count as an Absence.
2. Absences: NOTE: Excused absences (verifiable) are only allowed for, an illness that requires a hospital stay or a death in your immediate family, excluding aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. 5 absences=drop 1 letter grade, 7 absences=drop 2 letter grades, 9-absences=drop 3 letter grades, 11 absences=F
3. A student with Perfect attendance will receive 15 bonus points added to your test points total at the end of the semester.
Academic Honesty Academic honesty is expected from all students, and dishonesty in any form will not be tolerated. Please consult the LSC-PA policies (Section IX, subsection A, in the Faculty Handbook) for consequences of academic dishonesty.
